L’oratorio profane Le Vin herbé\, nouvelle version du roman de Tristan et Iseut\, Golgotha\, une passion inspirée de Rembrandt\, ou encore Monologues de Jedermann pour baryton et piano/orchestre d’après Hugo von Hofmannsthal et nombre d’œuvres instrumentales apparaissent alors à l’affiche des concerts des grands centres musicaux d’Europe et d’Amérique. Passé le temps du soutien indéfectible d’Ernest Ansermet\, de Victor Desarzens\, de Paul Sacher\, c’est à l’étranger que le nom de Frank Martin rayonne.
